What happens when I contact you?
If possible I will answer your call immediately as I understand that an answering service can be irritating. However if I can't I will return your call discretely as soon as possible.
How will I know if your approach is for me?
I offer a free no-obligation initial consultation lasting between 30 minutes and 1 hour, depending on the issue. This could happen on the phone, or on Skype with or without webcam, or in my practice. It gives both of us the opportunity to decide if we can work together to achieve your goals.
What happens in a session?
That can vary between clients and from session to session. It depends on the issue and what you are comfortable with. The initial consultation should give us both an idea of what can be achieved and how the sessions can be best tailored to your needs.
How much does it cost?
My fees are £80.00 an hour.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends entirely on the issue. Some issues can be dealt with in a single session and others require more. The initial consultation should give an indication of the likely timescale. Any ongoing therapy will include regular reviews to ensure that we are still on course to achieve your goal.
Is it confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality and trust are crucial in any therapeutic relationship. There are only two situations in which your case will ever be discussed with anyone else:
1) during my clinical supervision, which is a requirement of my governing bodies and is there to ensure that my work remains safe and effective. During this supervision your case will be discussed anonymously.
2) I am legally required to notify the relevant authorities if you tell me that you or another person, is in grave and immediate danger of serious harm. I should point out that in 20 years of practice I have never had to do this without my client's consent.
What happens if I miss an appointment?
Once a session is booked I require 48 hours' notice of a cancellation. Without this notice the full fee will be payable.
